Booby Bolt - The Ashland City Fire Department sponsored a team to paticipate in the first Booby Bolt held in Pleasant View as part of the "Pink Out Pleasant View" activities. This event was held to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breas Cancer Research. Those participating for Ashland City Fire Department were: Tony Clark, Misti Clark, Tracey Knack, PJ Wiseman, Michelle Wiseman, Angel Ramsey, Brittni White, Catherine Blackwell, Ken Hudson and Teresa Hackett.

Support 132, Support 135, and Rescue 133 responded to MVC with vehicle off the r...oadway and down an embankment. Upon arrival of Medic 10 they advised that driver did not have any injuries, just trapped. Upon arrival of Rescue 133 crew made their way to patient and then made a harness and assisted the driver up the embankment.

ACFD and PVFD responded to structure fire in a two story apartment building. Eng...ine 101 arrived on scene first, found fire showing from second floor apartment on the C/D corner of the building. Crews entered through the only door accessible without a ladder to the building. Command was established and in coming Chief was notified that command would passed to them upon their arrival. Using a 1 3/4 inch preconnect fire was extinguish and contained to the room of origin. Extensive overhaul was done to unsure fire had not spread to adjoining apartments. Upon interview of the occupants they advised that they had fell asleep while smoking. Major damage was done to room of origin while only minor damage was to the rest of the apartment, and no damage to any adjoining apartments. 6 other families were displaced due to utilities to the building be turned off until it was deemed safe to be turned on. The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced families.

Units responded to Frey Street for a reported MVC with injuries. Upon arrival had a two ton flatbed versus the rock wall. One patient still in the vehicle with lacerations to the right and left side of head. Assisted EMS with boarding and loading the patient. Also while on scene a diesel spill was contained.

July 6, 2011

Ashland City Fire Department responded to a house fire in Pleasant View. Before Pleasant View Fire Department arived on scene, the fire was put out by the fire sprinkler system. Ashland City and Pleasant View Fire Departments assisted in clearing out the smoke and cleaning up the water from the sprinkler system. There was very little damage to the home and no one was hurt during the incident.

June 25, 2011

Dispatched to a Tractor Trailer roll over on Tennessee Waltz parkway. Rescue 133 and Engine 101 arrived on scene and found driver already out of vehicle. EMS Medic-10 arrived on scene and took over patient care. PD arrived on scene and roadway was shut down. Support 131 and Support 132 arrived on scene. FD crews checked vehicle for hazards, non were found. Medic -10 transported driver to Centennial AC Emergency Room. West Nashville wrecker service arrived on scene with several crews and equipment. Engine 101 was released , Rescue 133 remained on scene and set light tower up. Tractor and tailer were uprighted and cargo was loaded onto another trailer and removed from roadway. Roadway was reopened and all units returned to service.

On Saturday, May 21st the Ashland City Fire Department held a Recognition Dinner. In addition to recognizing years of service for our firefighters we also had a special presentation. Marty Blackwell and Sam Waldron built a permanent memorial for Daniel Greer to be hung up at Station 1. The shadowbox contains items that represent Daniel Greer in both his military and fire career.

MVC - Main Street

Units responded to location for a MVC with injuries. R133 arrived on scene and found three vehicles involved in the collision with several people around the vehicles. Main Street command was established and investigation began. Two patients were found, a street light was damaged, and there were several broken windows on the building that was hit. One patient was transported by ambulance and crews remained on scene until the vehicles were removed. All units returned to quarters in service without further incident.

Ashland City Fire Department responded to Highway 12 for an MVC with unknown injuries. Rescue 133 arrived on scene and found a 4 car MVC with 2 patients and numerous hazards. Command was established and personnel began investigating. One Vehicle involved had a fuel leak, the leak was contained, another vehicle was occupied two times and both were extricated. Patient care was transferred to the medic unit and ACFD personnel controlled all hazards. The roadway was cleared and all units returned to quarters in service without further incident.

Responded to a gas station on Main St. for a report of a gas spill. S131 arrived on scene and established command. E103 and R133 arrived on scene and crews worked to control and confine spill. EMA 85 arrived on scene and supplied oil absorbant, Hollingsworth oil was notified and a spill clean up team was dispatched. Command was terminated and all ACFD units returned to service.

Support 132, Engine 101, and Engine 103 responded to possible chimney fire. Support 132 arrived on scene and established command. Upon the arrival of Engine 101 and 103 crews inspected chimney and found that the fire was out. Owner advised the fire started in the chimney. He was alerted by a passerby who climbed onto roof and extinguished the fire with a garden hose. There were smoke detectors in the home but they did not work.
